Description
This is a circular porcelain enamel advertising sign for Evinrude Outboard Motors, dated 1957. The sign is constructed of metal with a fired-on porcelain finish. The layout features the brand name Evinrude in navy blue block lettering with a yellow drop shadow at the top. Below, the word Quiet is written in red cursive script. To the right, the text OUTBOARD MOTORS SALES & SERVICE appears in navy blue. The central illustration depicts a man and a woman in a red and yellow motorboat cruising on water rendered in blue and white. The woman is shown with her hands over her ears to illustrate the advertised quiet performance of the motors. A detailed depiction of an outboard motor is visible on the boat stern. Small navy blue text along the bottom edge reads COPYRIGHT EVINRUDE MOTOR CO. 1957 MADE IN U.S.A. The reverse side of the sign is finished in solid black enamel. Four mounting holes are located around the perimeter at the top, bottom, and sides.
