Description
This is a cast iron waffle iron manufactured by The Griswold Manufacturing Company in Erie, Pennsylvania. The set includes two square articulated paddles and a matching high-profile base designed for use over a stove burner. The paddles feature steel wire coil grips, often referred to as cool-handles. The exterior of the top paddle is embossed with the following markings: AMERICAN NO.11. at the top, a central large Griswold cross-in-circle logo, and below the logo, PATT. NO.161., THE GRISWOLD MFG. CO., ERIE, PA., U.S.A., and PATD. JULY 11-1922. The interior cooking surfaces feature a standard 2×2 square waffle grid pattern.
