Description
This is a two-piece cast iron cake mold produced by Griswold, designed in the form of a reclining lamb. The mold consists of two interlocking sections used for baking three-dimensional cakes, a traditional item for Easter celebrations. The front section features the embossed text NO 866 along the lower edge of the base. The rear section is marked with the incised characters 922 on the upper handle loop. The cast iron has a dark, seasoned patina throughout. The mold includes integral feet that allow it to stand upright, and there are three small steam vent holes located on the reverse half. The two sections are currently secured together with plastic zip ties and include paper auction lot tags.
