Description
An antique cast iron still bank modeled in the form of a standing dog, traditionally identified as a Boston Terrier or French Bulldog. The figure depicts the dog with characteristic cropped ears and a docked tail. The bank is constructed as a two-part hollow casting joined by a single flat-head screw located on the left side of the torso. A narrow coin slot is positioned at the crown of the head between the ears. The item features a dark, possibly japanned or painted finish. This specific mold is characteristic of the animal-form banks produced by American firms such as Hubley Manufacturing Company or A.C. Williams in the early 20th century. There are no maker marks or factory stamps visible on the exterior surfaces.
