Description
This lot features a hand-painted figurine of a California Quail perched on a base designed to resemble weathered driftwood. The bird is depicted with detailed, textured plumage and the characteristic forward-curving head crest. A gold-toned metal identification plaque on the underside of the base is inscribed: California Quail by Ernest Muehlmatt HAND-PAINTED ? 1984 THE FRANKLIN GALLERY. The figure demonstrates realistic anatomical features and species-specific coloration.
