Description
This lot contains two utilitarian stoneware vessels of American origin. One item is a straight-sided crock featuring a two-tone slip glaze, with a dark brown Albany-type slip at the rim and interior and a cream-colored slip on the exterior body. The second item is a single-handled ovoid jug, characteristic of 19th-century whiskey or moonshine jugs, covered entirely in a dark brown Albany-type slip glaze. The jug has a narrow mouth and a hand-applied strap handle. No manufacturer stamps or capacity marks are visible on either vessel. A modern auction inventory sticker is present on the inner rim of the crock.
