Description

This collection consists of eleven vintage glass bottles from the mid-20th century, specifically designed for use in a barber shop setting. The assortment features a variety of clear, milk, and frosted glass vessels, many retaining their original paper labels and contents. Identifiable brands include Barber’s Laboratory Co., Pinaud, The Herpicide Company, Wildroot, and C.C.C. The Barber’s Hair Dressing bottle is clear and rectangular with a paper label featuring portraits within a red and white barber pole border. The Pinaud Clubman bottle contains an orange liquid and is marked for professional use only with a white ribbed plastic cap. The Herpicide bottle features a spiraled glass texture and a partially intact label from The Herpicide Company of New Brunswick, New Jersey. The Wildroot Cream-Oil bottle retains a white creamy residue and a label identifying its lanolin content. A white milk glass bottle is labeled Toilet Water in black script and features hand-painted or transfer-printed bird motifs, complete with a white ceramic stopper. Additional pieces include a clear glass shaker with a metal pourer, a frosted glass bottle with a dark stopper, and several tall clear glass bottles with various ceramic and plastic closures.
