Description
This vintage industrial signaling lantern was manufactured by the Drukov cooperative in Vesin, Czechoslovakia, for use by the Czechoslovak State Railways (Ceskoslovenske statni drahy). The lantern features a rectangular metal body with a high-visibility hazard pattern of a red-orange X on a white background across the front and sides. The top of the lantern has a black-painted chimney with ventilation holes and a wire bale handle for carrying. On the reverse, the metal is embossed with the manufacturer and location, DRUKOV VESIN, and the lower edge is marked with the initials CSD. The lantern includes a rear-mounted bracket for attachment to a post or railcar and a clear circular glass lens on the front. The interior is currently fitted with an incandescent bulb, suggesting it was either an electric battery-powered model or has been converted from its original configuration. Dimensions: 11 x 7 x 6 inches.
