Description
This vintage pressed steel toy car is a Bearcat roadster model manufactured by the Structo Manufacturing Company of Freeport, Illinois. The vehicle features a boattail speedster body style finished in a two-tone maroon and black color scheme. The construction consists of a pressed sheet steel body, separate chassis, fenders, and running boards. The front radiator shell is embossed with the manufacturer name STRUCTO over a textured honeycomb pattern. The car is equipped with a clockwork wind-up mechanism operated by a hand crank located at the front of the radiator. An underside inspection reveals a complex internal motor assembly including multiple gears and a governor that drives the rear axle via a bevel gear system. The spoked wheels are composed of cast metal fitted with solid rubber tires. The interior includes a separate metal steering wheel and a windshield frame.
