Description
This is a professional vintage barber chair manufactured by the Theo. A. Kochs Company of Chicago. The chair is constructed with a heavy cast-iron frame and a circular pedestal base, both finished in white porcelain enamel. It features a hydraulic-style lift base and a manual reclining mechanism operated by a side-mounted metal lever. The chair is upholstered in blue vinyl with white piping. Key components include an adjustable and removable headrest with a polished metal reverse, white enameled armrests, and an ornate, multi-part cast metal footrest with a flip-over step. The upper footrest plate features cast lettering that reads MANUFACTURED BY THEO. A. KOCHS COMPANY CHICAGO. The lower flip-over footrest plate is marked THEO. A. KOCHS CHICAGO. A leather razor strop is attached to a dedicated hook on the side of the chair frame.
