Description
13.5x 39.5. An original mid-century embossed metal advertising sign for Wildroot hair products, specifically designed for display in barber shops. The rectangular sign is constructed from painted embossed metal with a cream-colored field. The words BARBER SHOP and ASK FOR are rendered in embossed dark blue block lettering, while the brand name WILDROOT is featured prominently in large, embossed red block letters. The right side of the sign includes a stylized graphic of a traditional barber pole with red, white, and blue stripes. The reverse side of the sign is finished in a solid olive-drab or gray paint. Printed identification marks in the lower-left corner read W-65 followed by A-M Sign Co., Lynchburg, Va., 9-56. A small adhesive inventory sticker with the handwritten number 39 over a red circular sticker with the number 8 is present on the lower right front.
