Description
This Franklin Mint George S. Patton Jr. World War II commemorative single action revolver replica is a non-firing decorative model chambered in .45 caliber. It features a silver-toned finish with extensive scroll engraving covering the barrel, frame, and cylinder. The 4.75 inch barrel is marked .45 CAL on the left side. Verbatim markings transcribed from the frame include PAT. SEPT. 19. 1871 and JULY 2. 72. JAN. 19. 75. The furniture consists of white synthetic faux-ivory grips; the right panel features a relief-carved eagle and shield motif, while the left panel is inscribed with the initials GSP. The replica is mounted in a dark wood shadow box frame against a gold-toned metal backplate etched with a map of Europe and North Africa detailing major World War II campaign locations. A central plaque identifies the piece as a George S. Patton Jr. World War II Commemorative .45 Single Action Revolver. The action appears to function mechanically, but this item is an inert replica and cannot be made to fire. Note – As an antique or black powder firearm, this item does not require a background check.
