Lot 494:
Description
This group consists of three diverse wooden items of varying craft and utility. The first is a repurposed hardwood shoe last used in footwear manufacturing, converted into a decorative candle holder with a black-finished gooseneck metal socket attached to the instep. The second item is a hand-carved souvenir paddle from the Solomon Islands, crafted from a dark, heavily-grained tropical hardwood. The diamond-shaped blade features hand-painted block lettering reading SOLOMON ISLANDS and includes a fiber hanging cord tied at the handle terminal. The third item is a T-handled paddle or stirrer made of light-toned hardwood with a smooth finish and a rectangular blade. A small hole is drilled through the handle near the crossbar for hanging.
