Description
This cast iron parlor stove was produced by The Estate Stove Co. of Hamilton, Ohio, a company operated by F. and L. Kahn and Brothers. The unit is the Triple Effect model, distinguished by the three vertical heat exchange tubes at the rear which were designed to improve heating efficiency. The stove is constructed of cast iron and decorated with ornate Victorian relief work, including rococo scrollwork and floral motifs. It stands on four cabriole legs. The front of the stove features a hinged door with a decorative grate and inset mica panels. The top is finished with a pierced grill and an arched ornamental crest. Cast markings on the top cresting read THE ESTATE STOVE CO HAMILTON OHIO. The front decorative plate is marked ESTATE TRIPLE ORIGINAL EFFECT. A circular flue outlet is located at the rear of the unit.
