Description
A vintage Indian Fire Pump backpack sprayer manufactured by D.B. Smith and Company of Utica, New York. This piece of firefighting memorabilia features a kidney-shaped tank constructed from polished brass and copper. The lower portion of the tank body displays horizontal ribbing for reinforcement, while the rear panel is perforated with ventilation holes for user comfort during operation. The unit includes a slide-action brass pump wand equipped with a dual-tip nozzle and a textured wooden grip. A heavy-duty black rubber hose connects the wand assembly to the base of the tank. The tank is topped with a red plastic filler cap featuring integrated air venting. Markings on the filler cap include D.B. SMITH AND COMPANY, UTICA, N.Y. U.S.A., and INDIAN PATENTED. The rear panel is embossed with the text AIR COOLED PATENTED TANK. Approximately 18-20 inches in height.
