Lot 140:
Description
This lot consists of three ceramic duck figurines in two distinct styles. The collection includes a matching pair of mallard drake figurines in a standing pose with open bills. These pieces are made of high-gloss glazed ceramic and display traditional mallard markings including iridescent green heads, white neck rings, chestnut brown breasts, and blue wing speculums. Both mallards are mounted on stylized green bases representing aquatic foliage. Based on the specific mold and glaze characteristics, these figurines are attributed to Royal Copley. The third item is a large, stylized seated duck figurine with a stoneware-style satin finish. It features a mottled tan and cream body with cobalt blue sponged accents on the bill, eyes, and wing feathers. The figurine is finished with a rustic raffia bow tied around the neck, characteristic of late 20th-century American country decor. No maker marks were visible on any of the pieces at the time of cataloging.
