Description
A mid-20th-century footed cedar keepsake or jewelry box featuring an embossed decorative exterior and a hinged lid. The lid displays a central oval landscape lithograph depicting a mountain lake scene with an autumnal tree in the foreground, framed by an embossed scroll and floral border. The front panel is decorated with a continuous relief band featuring stylized floral and circular motifs. The side panels exhibit horizontal stepped ribbing. The box is constructed with unfinished cedar interior panels and includes a rectangular mirror set into the underside of the lid, accented with etched floral rose motifs. A brass-tone latch is mounted to the front. Accompanied by a small, detached brass-tone heart-shaped padlock and corresponding key located within the interior. No manufacturer’s marks or stamps are visible on the exterior or interior surfaces.
