Description
This antique manual box-style coffee grinder is attributed to the Arcade Manufacturing Company, resembling their Imperial or Colonial models from the late 19th to early 20th century. The mill features a light-toned wood body with distinctive machine-cut finger-jointed corners and a wide, stepped wooden base. The upper assembly consists of a decorative cast iron hopper with an embossed dome featuring floral scrollwork and a side-swinging access door. The curved cast iron crank handle is fitted with a dark-stained turned wood knob. The interior mechanism consists of a traditional gravity-fed cast iron burr grinder. A small wooden drawer at the base, finished with a turned wood knob, opens to reveal a removable circular metal liner designed to collect the ground coffee.
