Description
This lot features an assortment of antique paper dolls and associated outfits designed by American illustrator Grace Gebbie Drayton. The collection includes four standing child figures, comprising two older girls and two younger toddlers or babies. One accessory, a yellow book held by a figure in a blue dress, is printed with the text BY G. G. DRAYTON. The dolls exhibit Drayton’s characteristic artistic style, featuring round faces, wide-set eyes, and rosy cheeks. The accompanying wardrobe consists of numerous hand-cut pieces of clothing and millinery, including a double-breasted yellow coat, a green jumper with white collar, a blue dress with a yellow-and-black checkered waistband, and several elaborate bonnets. The items are printed in color on cardstock.
