June Antiques and Collectibles Consignment
Lot 50:
Description
Thispull wagon features a rectangular wooden bed mounted on a metal undercarriage. The front axle is equipped with a steering mechanism connected to a long metal handle with a T-shaped grip. The wagon is supported by four spoked metal wheels. On the exterior side panel, the name RED RACER is hand-painted in black lettering, flanked by yellow scrollwork and decorative floral motifs. The construction style, particularly the triangular steering assembly and the spoked wheel design, is characteristic of early 20th-century American coaster wagons produced by manufacturers such as the Auto Wheel Coaster Company or Sherwood. The undercarriage is secured to the wooden frame with heavy bolts, and the steering mechanism remains fully articulated.
