Description
This two-piece covered candy or trinket dish is composed of a molded lid and a coordinating oval base, both crafted from white milk glass. The lid is shaped as a nesting hen, featuring textured feather detailing across the body, wings, and upright tail feathers, with a defined comb, beak, and wattles on the head. The oval base features a decorative beaded rim and vertical ribbing on the exterior surface. No maker marks or model numbers are visible on the interior or the underside of the base. This design is highly characteristic of mid-20th-century American pressed glass produced by the Indiana Glass Company.
