Description
ThisAurora AFX Ultra 5 Grand National Professional Electronic Road Racing Set, manufactured circa 1978, features slotless racing technology designed to allow lane changing. The set is constructed from plastic track and accessories, metal electronic components, and a cardboard storage box. Included in this group are several sections of gray plastic track, featuring curved pieces, straight pieces, and a pre-wired starter terminal track. Electronic components consist of two blue plastic Steer-A-Con hand controllers embossed with the AFX logo and a matching AFX Ultra 5 power transformer, Model No. 879290. Documentation includes the original paper AFX Ultra 5 Drivers Manual. Partial plastic building accessories for a control tower and starter platform are also present. The original box lid displays color illustrations of race cars and an endorsement from professional driver A.J. Foyt.
