Description
AUnited States military-specification gasoline pressure lantern, commonly referred to as the Milspec or 252A model. The lantern features a metal fount finished in olive drab paint with a large yellow instructional decal on the side. This decal provides detailed operating and safety procedures for use with leaded or non-leaded gasoline. The unit is equipped with a four-quadrant glass globe and includes a pre-heating funnel attached to the fount by a metal chain. A black control knob with a metal faceplate indicates OFF and LIGHT positions. A handwritten collector tag attached to the top ventilator identifies the item as a 1983 Coleman Military Lantern. The lantern is accompanied by its original cardboard shipping and storage container, which features bold black text reading GLASS and a schematic diagram illustrating the proper method for packing the lantern and its components including the inner flap, upper tray, liner, and lower tray.
