Lot 236:
Description
A trio ofvacuformed plastic masks produced as promotional premiums for Zest soap bars, dating to the late 1960s and early 1970s. The group includes three distinct designs: a clown with a blue nose and orange hair, a stylized character wearing an orange hat marked POGO, and a grinning cat with black, blue, and white markings. These masks are stylistically attributed to prominent manufacturers of the era such as Ben Cooper or Collegeville. The interior of the clown and cat masks features blue printed promotional text that reads FREE WHEN YOU BUY 2 Bath Size Zest Bars. The Pogo mask hat features the name POGO printed in black on the obverse. The reverse of the Pogo mask bears handwritten ink notations reading D.S.M., W.S.C., and 1971. The clown and cat masks both have the year 1969 written in pencil on their respective interiors.
