Description
Alithographed tin potato chip canister produced for the Kline’s Potato Chip Co. of Bolivar, Ohio. The canister features a white ground decorated with a mid-century harlequin diamond pattern in red, yellow, and blue. The brand name kline’s is printed in blue lowercase lettering across the upper section. Inside the diamond pattern, the words POTATO CHIPS are rendered in white serif capital letters. A festive script reading Let’s have a Party is positioned on the side, accompanied by decorative dots. Two metal wire swing handles are riveted to the sides of the body. The lower front includes printed text for ingredients and company identification: INGREDIENTS: PURE VEGETABLE SHORTENING, SALT, SELECTED POTATOES, KLINE’S POTATO CHIP CO., BOLIVAR, OHIO. The side panel indicates a weight of 2 LBS. NET WT. The lid displays handwritten markings in grease pencil.
