Description
This is 33 Native American projectile points and lithic tools, documented as being from the Ohio region. The assembly contains a variety of diagnostic forms including side-notched, corner-notched, stemmed, and lanceolate points, as well as larger bifacial blades and scrapers. The variety of forms suggests the collection encompasses multiple archaeological periods, such as the Archaic and Woodland periods. The items are knapped from various types of flint and chert, with colors including cream, tan, various shades of gray, and black. Construction methods involve percussion and pressure flaking. A prominent large black biface is positioned in the center of the display. The collection is presented in a black Riker-style display case with a red fabric interior. Visible markings include a hand-inscribed label stating Ohio in the upper left corner and a second label inscribed with 33 pcs in the top center.
