Description
28 stone tools and projectile points of North American Indigenous origin, attributed to the Ohio region. The assemblage includes a diverse range of typologies, featuring stemmed, side-notched, and corner-notched projectile points, as well as bifacial blades, scrapers, and a cylindrical tool, possibly a drill or punch. These artifacts are manufactured from various regional lithic materials, including variegated cherts and flints, with some specimens showing characteristics of high-quality Flint Ridge flint and chalcedony. The pieces are hand-knapped using percussion and pressure flaking techniques, representing cultural periods from the Archaic through the Woodland and into the Mississippian periods. The collection is housed in a glass-fronted display case with a red ribbed backing and a black frame. A label in the upper left corner of the frame features handwritten text reading Ohio 0140.
