Description

This collection consists of thirty-eight prehistoric lithic tools and projectile points attributed to Ohio, United States. The specimens are crafted from various regional materials, including mottled gray, tan, and cream-colored cherts. High-quality flints are represented, ranging from translucent pink and white material characteristic of the Flint Ridge region to deep black material suggestive of Upper Mercer flint. Each item exhibits traditional bifacial percussion and pressure flaking. The assemblage includes a diverse range of typologies spanning multiple prehistoric periods, featuring corner-notched, side-notched, and stemmed projectile points, as well as triangular arrowheads and larger ovoid biface tools or knives. A white rectangular label is affixed to the upper left corner of the frame bearing the handwritten word Ohio. An additional label on the interior red felt backing is marked 38 pcs. One large central biface bears a small white adhesive sticker with the handwritten numerals 341. The collection is professionally mounted on a red felt-covered backing within a black textured display case with a glass front.
