Description
This lot consists of World War II naval photography and a Cold War era panoramic military unit photograph. The first group includes a set of War Pix official United States Navy and Coast Guard photos, marketed as Your Navy at War. These were produced by the Promotional Products Company of New York using the High Fidelity Aquatone Process. The collection features prints of significant events including the attack on Pearl Harbor, the Battle of the Coral Sea, the Invasion of Attu, and various naval engagements in the Solomon Islands and Midway. Specific subjects depicted include the USS West Virginia, USS Lexington, USS New Mexico, and the Coast Guard Cutter Spencer. The second item is a large-format black-and-white panoramic photograph of Company C, 1st Battalion, Medical Training Center, Brooke Army Medical Center at Fort Sam Houston, Texas. Dated January 7, 1957, the photograph includes a full printed roster of personnel by row, identifying officers such as Captain J. H. Nelson and First Lieutenant L.
