Description

This lot consists of a collection of seven items of equestrian tack, including six assorted horse bits and one braided leather rein. The collection includes two ornate curb bits in a traditional Vaquero or Spanish Colonial style, featuring heart-shaped cheekpieces with punched decorative patterns and integrated curb chains; one of these bits features a twisted sweet iron mouthpiece. Also included is a long-shank curb bit constructed with stainless steel shanks and a jointed mouthpiece made of a copper-colored alloy. A brass or bronze ported curb bit is present, showing significant green verdigris and attached to a partial leather strap. The snaffle bits include one full-cheek snaffle with a jointed mouthpiece and one loose-ring or eggbutt snaffle with a jointed mouthpiece. The dark brown braided leather rein transitions to a flat section with a buckle. This flat section is stamped with faint characters that appear to read 88C or GGC.
