Lot 193:
Sold for: $15
Description
tallest is 11 in tall This lot comprises three clear glass vessels produced in the late 19th to early 20th century. The collection includes a pressed glass decanter featuring arched panels with a diamond and button pattern and a ringed neck. Also included is an octagonal storage jar with a wide mouth, a rolled rim, and a ringed neck. The base of this jar bears an embossed monogram mark consisting of a large H over an A, identifying it as a product of the Hazel-Atlas Glass Company. The third item is a crown-top beverage bottle with embossed text on the body reading Carrington Bottling Works and Carrington, N. D. arranged in a circular format. All three items demonstrate a characteristic yellowish-green fluorescence when placed under ultraviolet light. This reaction confirms the presence of manganese, which was used as a decolorizing agent in glass production primarily between 1880 and 1915.
