Description
This musical lidded beer stein features a relief-molded and hand-painted glazed earthenware body. The central decoration depicts a traditional Bavarian or Alpine scene with a seated woman in a maroon dress and a man in green lederhosen set against a background of timber-framed houses and mountains. The vessel is framed by top and bottom bands of repeating relief scroll motifs and features a handle molded to simulate a textured tree branch. It is topped with a hinged, domed pewter lid with an embossed foliate and scroll design. An integrated mechanical musical movement is located within the lid; the winding key is marked with a stylized S within a textured oval. 8.5 in high.
