Description

This lot consists of two ceramic beer vessels: a traditional salt-glazed stoneware mug and a contemporary commemorative collector stein. The first item is a German stoneware mug produced by Marzi and Remy. It is constructed from salt-glazed stoneware with a characteristic orange peel texture and features hand-painted cobalt blue abstract floral and scroll decorations. The handle is accented with blue horizontal stripes. A stamped 0.5l capacity mark is located near the upper rim. The base contains an incised circular mark with the letters M and R. The second item is a Coors Brewing Company commemorative relief-molded ceramic stein titled Golden Rails. Produced in 2002, this piece is the third installment in the Rocky Mountain Ironhorse Collection. The body features a wrap-around scene in high relief depicting steam locomotives, a railroad crossing sign, and mountainous landscapes. The handle is molded with a foliate leaf pattern and the base perimeter is embossed with Golden, Colorado. Detailed inscriptions on the underside identify the piece as an authorized collectible crafted in China for BRAX Ltd. and include the individual serial number 13069.
