Description
This single-shot muzzleloading rifle is a percussion half-stock design chambered in .36 caliber, typically used for target shooting or small game. The rifle features an octagonal barrel that measures approximately 34 inches as part of a 50-inch total overall length. The stock is crafted from highly figured curly maple, featuring a prominent cheek rest on the left side and an elaborate multi-piece brass patchbox with decorative piercings on the right. Key markings include the percussion lock plate, which is stamped G. GOLCHER and decorated with engraved scrollwork and wildlife figures. The firearm is equipped with a double set trigger mechanism and a decorative brass trigger guard with a finger spur. Additional brass furniture includes the buttplate, ramrod pipes, and a decorative forestock tip. The muzzle shows circular stamping around the rifled bore, and the rifle is fitted with a fixed front sight and a notched rear sight.
