Description

Twelve-drawer library card catalog cabinet manufactured by the Library Bureau in the early 20th century. This sectional unit is constructed from solid quarter-sawn oak, featuring a prominent tiger grain pattern throughout. The cabinet follows a modular stacking design, consisting of a four-legged base, two separate six-drawer cabinet sections, and a finishing top cap. A pull-out writing slide is integrated between the upper and lower cabinet modules. Each of the twelve drawers is constructed with dovetail joinery and includes interior slots for divider cards. The drawer fronts are fitted with brass index card frames and curved D-style pull handles. A small brass manufacturer identification plaque is mounted to the top rail, reading Library Bureau Sole Makers. 60.5x23x24
