Description
11 in tall A figural pedestal bowl or planter in the Neoclassical style, constructed from a cast composition material such as chalkware or plaster. The central support is modeled as a standing putto, or cherub, with arms raised to support a shallow, flared bowl upon its head. The exterior of the bowl is decorated with molded rocaille and scrolling foliate motifs. The figure stands atop a circular, waisted base featuring four integral scrolled feet. The entire piece is finished with a cream-colored paint, accented by artificial patination in the recesses to simulate an aged appearance. Visible vertical mold seams are present along the reverse and sides of the figure. No manufacturer marks or signatures are visible.
