Description
64 x 70 A vintage hand-quilted cotton scrap quilt featuring the Orange Peel pattern, also known as Joseph’s Coat. The design is composed of interlocking oval motifs created from a wide variety of printed cotton fabrics including florals, ginghams, stripes, and polka dots. These patterned pieces are set against a solid light blue cotton ground. The quilt is finished with a decorative scalloped edge and a narrow white cotton binding. The backing is made of a plain white cotton fabric. Hand-quilting stitches are visible throughout the piece, following the outlines of the patchwork segments.
