68 x 76 An unfinished vintage patchwork quilt top featuring a repeated pinwheel geometric pattern, also referred to as a spinner or windmill design. The piece is constructed from a variety of cotton and cotton-blend scrap fabrics, including floral calicos, ginghams, plaids, and novelty prints. The color palette is diverse, featuring reds, blues, greens, and browns. The top is composed of numerous small triangular and square patches joined together. The reverse side shows unfinished seams with wide allowances, suggesting hand-pieced or rustic machine construction. This is a single-layer textile consisting of the pieced front panel without batting, backing, or binding.
