Lot 278:
Description
This John Deere promotional model represents a horse-drawn surry carriage, produced as a commemorative item for a 1996 Nashville event. The set consists of a two-seat surry carriage and a separate harnessed draft horse. The carriage is constructed of cast metal with a glossy black finish, complemented by dark green-painted wheels and chassis. The interior floorboard is embossed with the text JOHN DEERE / AFTERMARKET 2000 / NASHVILLE 96. Decorative features include gold-tone side lamps, a wood-grain textured roof, and yellow John Deere leaping deer logos on the side panels. A stylized gold letter R is present on the rear panel. The accompanying harnessed draft horse is finished in glossy black and is depicted in a walking pose. The carriage features free-rolling wheels, and the horse is a separate component that attaches to the hitching shafts.
