Lot 267:
Description
An antique cast iron seat attributed to the Luther Grinder Manufacturing Company. This implement seat features a classic triangular, contoured pan form designed with seven horizontal ventilation and drainage slots. The design is characteristic of pedal-powered tool grinders from the early 20th century. The seat tapers to a rounded horn at the front and broadens to a curved rear. A central mounting point is recessed with a square hole, designed to be secured with a standard carriage bolt. The underside includes a reinforced area around the mounting point and contains a weathered, embossed numeric mark on one of the horizontal bars.
