Description
This lot consists of three miniature tools from the Louis Marx & Co., Inc. Pocketools Collector’s Series. Each tool is housed in its original, factory-sealed blister pack. The items included are a Hand Drill, a Bench Plane, and a Hand Saw. The Hand Drill features a metal drill bit and chuck, a metal gear wheel marked with the Marx name, and plastic handles. The Bench Plane is constructed with a metal body and blade, metal adjustment screw, and molded plastic handles. The Hand Saw features a metal blade and a brown plastic handle. The cardboard backings are designed with a blue blueprint-style illustration area listing other tools in the series and the circular Marx Toys logo. Markings on the packaging include POCKETOOLS T.M., TOOLS IN MINIATURE . . BY MARX, and LOUIS MARX & CO. INC. 200 FIFTH AVE. NEW YORK 10, N.Y. The original retail prices of 89 cents for the drill and plane and 49 cents for the saw are visible on the cards. Materials used in construction include die-cast metal, pressed steel, and molded plastic.
