Description

36×44 This large-scale mixed metal wall sculpture depicts a pair of stylized herons or cranes in a pond setting, executed in the style of decorative metalwork produced by Curtis Jere for Artisan House during the 1960s and 1970s. The sculpture features two birds with textured, hammered silver-tone metal bodies and heads, each detailed with a single blue glass cabochon eye. Their fanned wings and elongated legs are constructed from multiple curved brass or bronze-toned metal rods, creating a sense of movement. The base of the sculpture includes stylized lily pads and water ripples, finished with a blue-green verdigris patina. The piece is constructed using mixed metal techniques, including welding and hammering. There are no visible maker marks, signatures, or labels on the sculpture. Integrated wire loops are present on the reverse for wall mounting. Height: 48 inches Width: 36 inches.
