Description
This group of utilitarian stoneware bottles exhibits a cylindrical form with rounded shoulders and narrow necks. The collection includes various glaze finishes, including a dark brown to black slip glaze, a cobalt blue glaze with characteristic surface pitting, a tan salt-glazed exterior, and an off-white glaze. One bottle is distinguished by a threaded rim designed for a screw-top closure, while others feature collared rims intended for corks. An impressed mark, possibly reading 833, is located near the base of the white-glazed bottle. These vessels represent standard late 19th and early 20th-century containers used for liquids such as mineral water, spirits, or ginger beer. One bottle bears a modern adhesive auction label.
