Description
An Art Deco period step-on waste bin or hamper manufactured by the Milton Manufacturing Company of Two Rivers, Wisconsin. The exterior features a rectangular form with streamlined rounded corners, finished in a dark polished wood veneer. The front face is accented with a vertical light wood inlay strip. A metal foot pedal at the base operates the hinged lid. The interior contains a square, handled galvanized steel liner. A metal identification plate is riveted to the interior rim with the inscription NO. 9245A M58369 MADE MILTON MFG. CO. MAIN OFFICE AND FACTORY TWO RIVERS, WIS. The word STEEL is oriented vertically on the left side of the plate.
