Lot 35:
Description
23x 33. An American Arts and Crafts style hall mirror featuring a shaped frame constructed from quarter-sawn oak with a prominent medullary ray or tiger oak grain pattern. The frame exhibits an undulating, curved silhouette and houses a central beveled glass mirror plate. Mounted to the frame corners are four decorative cast brass triple-prong coat or hat hooks, each featuring stylized foliate and scrollwork motifs. The reverse reveals a secondary wood backing held by metal tabs and includes two metal strap hangers for wall mounting. The design is characteristic of early 20th-century American hall furniture, resembling examples produced by makers such as C.D. Widman and Company. No maker marks or signatures are present.
