Description
This is a United States military Personnel Armor System for Ground Troops (PASGT) ballistic helmet, commonly referred to as a Kevlar helmet. The shell is constructed from layers of Kevlar aramid fiber treated with a phenolic resin, featuring a textured olive drab finish on the interior. The helmet is equipped with a standard M81 woodland pattern camouflage cloth cover, which includes multiple reinforced buttonhole-style slits for the attachment of natural foliage. The interior contains the standard suspension assembly, consisting of an adjustable olive drab nylon webbing cradle and a cushioned, tan-colored leatherette sweatband. The helmet is fitted with a two-point olive drab nylon chin strap with metal adjustment hardware. An embossed character M is visible in the center crown of the shell interior, indicating the size as Medium. Faint lines of stamped text are present below the size marking but are not clearly legible.
