Description
An antique circular wooden container likely used as an industrial or dry measure, featuring a single-piece bentwood side wall and an inset wooden base. The vessel is heavily reinforced with iron banding, including horizontal hoops at the top and bottom edges secured by four vertical straps. Two of the vertical straps extend across the exterior base to create a structural cross-brace. All metal hardware is attached with large, flattened rivets. The interior of the container shows the wood grain and construction method of the inset base. No manufacturer marks or patent stamps are visible.
