Painted Cast Iron Well Pump Basin
Description
8 x 5 in. A novelty cast iron miniature hand-operated water well pump featuring an integrated circular basin. The piece is constructed with a hinged manual lever handle connected to an internal rod mechanism that rises and falls upon movement. The exterior retains remnants of a black painted ground decorated with polychrome floral motifs around the pump shaft and the exterior wall of the circular trough. The unpainted underside displays an oxidized cast surface with no visible maker marks.
