The instrument features a molded black composite housing with an adjustable gold-tone and black aluminum S-rod shaft, an arm cuff labeled FISHER LABS, and a padded foam grip. The front control faceplate reads FISHER RESEARCH LABS across the top and GOLD BUG PRO to the right, fitted with dual rotary control knobs for gain and threshold, push buttons for ground balance, pinpoint, and disc level, and an LCD screen surrounded by a 0 to 100 target.
