Lot 47:
Mapre, Mixed Media Rooster Profile
Description
18 x 18 in. This framed mixed media work, executed in pastel and charcoal on a textured surface, presents a profile view of a rooster. The composition features the bird’s head and upper torso rendered in a palette of white and grey tones with expressive red accents on the comb and wattles. Long, gestural strokes form the plumage, while the background is a solid ochre tone. A dense grouping of dark, arcing feathers indicates the tail at the left.
